SPACEBEL Part of the International UAV-GHG Consortium to Enable a Greener Future

Originating from a EUREKA Sustainability Call, the UAV-GHG project addresses the issue of global warming. SPACEBEL is part of the consortium in charge of this European innovation action under the leadership of Romaeris Corporation (Canada).  The project was kicked off at the SPACEBEL premises in Hoeilaart in November 2023.

The 3-year UAV-GHG initiative is about the monitoring of multiple greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions across extensive geographic areas by means of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) carrying novel spectroscopic sensors. Its main purpose is to identify emission sources and define actions while substantially improving our comprehension of greenhouse gases.

With the support of VLAIO (Flemish agency for innovation and entrepreneurship), SPACEBEL is responsible for the development of the cloud and Web based data exploitation platform that will provide greenhouse gas measurements to downstream value adders and users.

A wonderful opportunity for our Space data management team to bring their expertise to a highly promising project tackling climate change!

After three months of activity, we draw up an initial, positive assessment and are happy to pursue ccooperation with our consortium partners.

UAV-GHG is a Eureka Clusters Sustainability Call 2022 project under an ITEA4.
