Aiming to offer/develop solutions and lead projects related to ground infrastructure and Web-based data access and exploitation systems for satellite data, Spacebel is looking for a technical leader Web & cloud applications. This vacant position is located in our offices in Hoeilaart (Bxl) where a young and dynamic team is working in a serene atmosphere that fosters exchanges and ensures respect of the Human being.

As foretaste of the job content, here are some of the concrete tasks to be performed:

Collaborate with our customers to find the perfect solution(s) to their need(s) ;
Design, develop and maintain application components with standard-based interfaces (Development of backend and Web frontends) using the most recent Web and cloud technologies (JSF, AngularJS, Node.js, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, …) ;
Analyze requirements, prepare technical proposals and implement solutions, prepare validation test plans and perform validation of work by the team before delivery to clients.
Work in sync with other team members in an Agile environment, share knowledge and make suggestions.

Master degree in computer sciences or software engineering.
Several years of experience as software engineer or designer.
You are familiar with Java and Web development frameworks (at least one of the following: Spring, Play, EJB, JAX-WS, JAX-RS).
You have experience with :
- designing and implementing REST web services (e.g. OpenAPI, JSON, JSON Schema, XML Schema), including security aspects (OAuth 2.0,, ..);
- designing Web and cloud applications
- agile software development methodologies
- configuration management and version control incl. CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitLab
An experience or a knowledge of the following aspects is an asset :
- cloud-related technology (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, ..);
- RDBMS (i.e. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (SolR) and Big Data frameworks;
- user interface frameworks (AngularJS, React, View.js, Java Server Faces);
- standards : OGC, INSPIRE, ISO TC211, W3C
- Jupyter Notebooks, Python

A solid knowledge of technical English is essential, both for the reading of specifications as for documentation and proposal preparation.
Team player and communicative.
Independent analyst/software architect capable of development tasks as well.
Eager to learn to grow his/her software engineering skill levels and work with a small team.

Technische verantwoordelijke Web & Cloud applicaties

Om oplossingen aan te bieden / te ontwikkelen en projecten te leiden met betrekking tot grondinfrastructuur en systemen voor toegang tot en gebruik van satellietgegevens via het Internet, is SPACEBEL op zoek naar een technische verantwoordelijke Web & Cloud applicaties. De openstaande betrekking betreft onze vestiging in Hoeilaart (nabij Brussel), waar een jong en dynamisch team samenwerkt in een serene en respectvolle sfeer die onderlinge uitwisselingen stimuleert.

Een kort overzicht van je takenpakket als voorproefje:

Samenwerking met onze klanten om de perfecte oplossing(en) voor hun behoeften te vinden;
Ontwerp, ontwikkeling en maintenance van applicatiecomponenten met op standaard gebaseerde interfaces (back-end en front-end webontwikkeling) met behulp van de nieuwste web- en cloudtechnologieën (JSF, AngularJS, Node.js, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes,...);
Analyse van verzoeken, opstellen van technische offertes en implementatie van oplossingen, voorbereiding van validatietestplannen en validatie van het werk door het team vóór de levering aan klanten;
Synchroon werken met andere teamleden in een Agile omgeving, kennis delen en voorstellen doen.

Je bent in het bezit van een masterdiploma in computerwetenschappen of software engineering.
Je hebt al enkele jaren ervaring als software engineer of ontwerper.
Je kent Java en frameworks voor webontwikkeling (minstens één van de volgende: Spring, Play, EJB, JAX-WS, JAX-RS).
Ervaring op volgende vlakken is een feit:
- Ontwerp en implementatie van webREST-diensten (bv. OpenAPI, JSON, JSON Schema, XML Schema), inclusief beveiligingsaspecten (OAuth 2.0,...);
- Ontwerp van web- en cloudapplicaties;
- Agile softwareontwikkelingsmethoden;
- Configuratiebeheer en versiebeheer, inclusief CI/CD-pipelines, Git, GitLab.
Ervaring of kennis van de volgende aspecten is een pluspunt:
- Cloud gerelateerde technologie (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, ...);
- RDBMS (bijv. PostgreSQL) en NoSQL databases (SolR) en Big Data frameworks;
- User interface frameworks (AngularJS, React, View.js, Java Server Faces);

Een degelijke kennis van technisch Engels is essentieel, zowel voor het lezen van het lastenboek als voor het opstellen van documentatie en offertes.
Je bent een teamspeler met goede communicatieve vaardigheden.
Als autonome software-analist/architect kan je ook ontwikkelingstaken uitvoeren.
Je bent ertoe bereid om software engineering vaardigheden te ontwikkelen en in een klein team te werken.
Je bent nauwgezet en hebt aandacht voor de kwaliteit van de geleverde resultaten.
