Software Engineer - Technical Leader Full Stack

Aiming to develop solutions related to satellite mission and control centers, Spacebel is looking for a Software Engineer / Technical Leader Full Stack. This vacant position is located in our office in Hoeilaart (Bxl) where a young and dynamic team is working in a serene atmosphere that fosters exchanges and ensures respect of the Human being.

As foretaste of the job content, here are some of the concrete tasks to be performed:

Collaborate with our customers to find the perfect solution(s) to their need(s).
Interact with space agencies, customers and sub-contractors in exciting space projects.
Analyze problems, propose and implement solutions.
Work in sync with other team members in an Agile environment, share knowledge and make suggestions.
Develop application components (frontend and backend) using the most recent technologies (latest version of Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, …).

Master's degree preferred, ideally in one of the following fields: computer sciences, engineering or equivalent with a strong affinity for IT.
A first experience as software engineer or developer.
Strong knowledge of the Java and/or the Python programming language.
Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and object-oriented design.
Experience with API design and using REST webservices.
Deep understanding of data base systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Experience with Agile methodologies.
An experience with at least one web framework and knowledge of other frameworks (Spring Boot, Angular, React, Node.js…) is a real asset.
Knowledge and/or experience with some of the following technologies is considered as an additional advantage:
- Micro-services architecture;
- Big Data and NoSQL technologies.
A solid knowledge of technical English is essential.
Strong motivation for computer science and the space sector;
Versatility and creative mindset to identify technical solutions that meet our customers' needs.
Team player and communicative.
Excellent oral and writing skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders (including users).
Eager to learn to grow his/her development skill levels.

If aiming at a technical leader role: ability to lead people on the technical side by organizing the development team, following developers in their day-to-day job and checking the implementation of the solution.

SPACEBEL is op zoek naar een Software Engineer /Technical Leader Full Stack om oplossingen te ontwikkelen voor satellitemissie- en controlecentra. De openstaande betrekking betreft onze vestiging in Hoeilaart (nabij Brussel), waar een jong en dynamisch team samenwerkt in een serene en respectvolle sfeer die onderlinge uitwisselingen stimuleert.

Een kort overzicht van je takenpakket als voorproefje:

Samenwerking met onze klanten om de perfecte oplossing(en) voor hun behoeften te vinden.
Interactie met ruimtevaartorganisaties, klanten en onderaannemers in boeiende ruimtevaartprojecten.
Problemen analyseren, oplossingen voorstellen en implementeren.
Synchroon werken met andere teamleden in een Agile omgeving, kennis delen en voorstellen doen.
Applicatiecomponenten ontwikkelen (front-end en back-end) met behulp van de meest recente technologieën (laatste versie van Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, ...).

Je bent bij voorkeur in het bezit van een masterdiploma, liefst in één van de volgende vakgebieden: computerwetenschappen, engineering of gelijkwaardig met een sterke affiniteit voor IT.
Je hebt een eerste ervaring als software engineer of ontwikkelaar.
Je kent de programmeertaal Java en/of Python door en door.
Je hebt een goede kennis van datastructuren, algoritmen, design patterns en objectgeoriënteerd ontwerp.
Ervaring met API-ontwerp en het gebruik van REST webservices is een feit.
Een diepgaande kennis van databasesystemen (PostgreSQL, MySQL) is een must.
Je kan ervaring met Agile methodologieën voorleggen.
Ervaring met minstens één web framework en kennis van andere frameworks (Spring Boot, Angular, React, Node.js...) is een echte troef.
Kennis en/of ervaring met enkele van de onderstaande technologieën spreekt in je voordeel:
- Micro-services architectuur;
- Big Data en NoSQL technologieën.
Een degelijke kennis van technisch Engels is essentieel.
Sterke motivatie voor informatica en de ruimtevaartsector is onontbeerlijk.
Je geeft blijk van veelzijdigheid en creatieve instelling om technische oplossingen te vinden die aan de behoeften van onze klanten tegemoetkomen.
Je bent een teamspeler met goede communicatieve vaardigheden.

Als je een rol als technische leider nastreeft: je kan mensen op technisch vlak leiden d.w.z. het ontwikkelingsteam organiseren, ontwikkelaars in hun dagtaken opvolgen en de implementatie van oplossingen controleren.
