Mission

In order to sustain our growth in a fast moving sector, SPACEBEL is looking for an experienced Project Engineer (C++) to join our Modelling & Simulation team working on satellite and launcher simulation.

The European Space programmes are highly challenging and our future software engineer will be involved in the ambitious projects of the sector. SPACEBEL, a Belgian company, is among the top 3 European modelling and simulation companies. We aim to remain highly competitive in our particular expertise focused on simulators and electronic test facilities, thus contributing to the strategic issues of the European Space industry.

Under the guidance of the Project Manager or Modelling & Simulation Business Unit Manager, you will be in charge of and/or participate in various projects in order to:

  • improve the simulator infrastructure;
  • contribute to the design and development of Space equipment models or operating tools in an Agile environment;
  • perform the integration and configuration of satellite or launch vehicle simulators.

As to the projects under your leadership:

  • you plan the project tasks to be carried out by the team and follow them up;
  • you interface with your customers to manage project progress and trade-offs;
  • you report on the project costs and planning progress to your Business Unit Manager.

Profile

  • You have a keen interest in our area of activity and a passion for software systems.
  • You hold a university degree in software engineering or computer science.
  • You have a proven track record of approximately 5 years in the Space sector and/or software development in an industrial environment.
  • You are / have been responsible for projects.
  • You have a solid understanding of software development methods and standards.
  • You master one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Javascript or Python under Linux environment.
  • You are acquainted with the following tools, at least to some extent: Jupyter, CMake, Maven, Docker, Kubernetese; Boost or ZeroMQ libraries; SpringBoot or Angular frameworks; MariaDB or InfluxDB databases; NGINX, Keycloak, Websocket.
  • You are curious and willing to learn new languages and Space systems.
  • You have good communication skills and work well within a team.
