Ground Segment Software

For many years, SPACEBEL has been involved in the development of Ground Segment systems for different Space missions in the domain of Earth Observation (EO) for civilian and military purposes.

In this context, SPACEBEL is very active in the field of Misson Centres and Control Centres.

Another important activity of SPACEBEL concerns the development of satellite functional simulators. In this area, SPACEBEL has developed for CNES the PRESTO (PRoteus Engineering Simulator for Tests and Operations) simulator. PROTEUS is a CNES common satellite platform designed for Earth Observation, Telecommunications and Scientific missions. On top of PRESTO, SPACEBEL is in charge of the development of the payload simulator specific to each CNES mission using the PROTEUS platform: CALIPSO, JASON-1, COROT, SMOS and JASON-2.

Moreover, since 1994, SPACEBEL has specialized in the development of the Man Machine Interface (MMI) used in manned Space missions. A very important expertise has been acquired during the desing and development of the MMI for the European Robotic Arm (ERA) that will be installed on the International Space Station at the end of 2007.
