SPACEBEL

SPACEBEL was launched in 1988 within the context of the economic and political integration of Europe and of the dynamic role of Belgium in the space activities.

Thanks to its contribution to the success of numerous programmes of the European Space Agency, SPACEBEL has earned itself a solid reputation in the aerospace industry. SPACEBEL's high-performance "tailor-made" IT solutions fit out satellite platforms and on-board instruments, ground infrastructures for the reception, processing and dissemination of data recorded by satellite, test benches and systems (simulators and emulators), satellite communication networks.

Strengthened by the experience gained, SPACEBEL plays a dominant role on the micro-satellites market by offering solutions based upon the PROBA platform. To respond to the needs of its customers, SPACEBEL performs studies on micro-satellite mission analysis and definition.

In 1998, SPACEBEL extended the scope of its Space activities to include geo-information and Earth observation services when DA VINCI was merged with SPACEBEL. Today, SPACEBEL designs and markets decision support systems for territory, environment, natural resources and hazard management using Earth observation data.

SPACEBEL seeks to offer the most appropriate response to the Customer needs in terms of understanding the requirements, managing problems and using technological advances.

To succeed in this mission, SPACEBEL relies upon four main skills:
capability to manage information technology projects;
practice of quality assurance;
design of real-time software systems using proven techniques for safety and reliability;
experience with a wide range of proven technologies in the ICT domain.
