SOME FACTS
- 1993:
- Delivery of the first implementation of the end-to-end
CCSDS protocol for satellite communications;
- Delivery to ESO (European Southern Observatory)
of the control software for the Very Large Telescope
(VLT) in Chile.
- 1994: Successful implementation of the on-board software
for the Vegetation Instrument embarked on SPOT 4.
- 1995: Award of the ISO 9001 Tick-IT quality certificate
by Lloyds Register.
- 1996: Opening of the subsidiary in France (Toulouse).
- 1997: Acquisition of the DA VINCI Company in order
to diversify the activities in the field of Earth Observation
(thus covering geographic and environmental applications).
- 1998: Opening of the subsidiary in Vietnam.
- 1999: First contracts to implement the Patient Record
Software Product (ACTIPIDOS-Sxe) in French hospitals (Durtol,
Hayange).
- 2000: Delivery of the software for the protontherapy
control system of the Massachusetts General Hospital in
Boston (USA).
- 2000: Buy-out of 32% of the SPACEBEL shares by the
personnel.
- 2001: Successful implementation of the on-board software
for the Belgian satellite PROBA.
- 2002:
- Successful implementation of several essential elements
of the SPOT 5 satellite
- 2003: Delivery of the on-board software for the first
European moon probe SMART-1, successfully launched at
the end of September 2003.
- 2004: Obtention of several important contracts:
- Development of the on-board software for the Pléiades
satellites;
- Feasibility study of the Mekong River flood management;
- Software development for the Belgian micro-satellite
PROBA-2;
- Hospital Information System of the French Hospital
in Hanoï (Vietnam);
- Support for the HELIOS-2A image processing centre
in Belgium.
- 2005:
- The
MASS/SSE Portal for the distribution of Earth Observation
data is operational at ESRIN-Frascati;
- Participation
in the development of the ground segment software,
implementation of the simulation software and contribution
to the missions operation defintion of the Pléiades
satellites;
- Obtention
of the contract for the development of the on-board
software for Europe's 2nd probe LISA Pathfinder.
- 2006:
- Realization of the final version and qualification
of the High speed Acquisition and Distribution System
(HADS), which sends down the payload data collected
on board of the International Space Station, via the
Columbus high speed communication network, to the
scientists on the ground.
- 2007:
- Start of the Wallonia World Wide
Space Applications (3WSA) project,
i.e. a project of the Aerospace Cluster (Skywin)
of the Walloon
Marshall Plan
- Obtention of a contract related to the follow-up
of the installations and the environmental
monitoring of one of Chile's biggest cupper mines:
Minera Escondida.
- Start of the activities on GAIA concerning the
development of the on-board software of the mass
memory of ESA's astronomical and photometrical
mission.
- Spacebel is one of the winners of the Marianne de
Cristal contest and receives the first certificate
of merit.
- 2008:
- Delivery of the final version of the on-board
software for the LISA Pathfinder mission
- His Most Serene Highness Prince Albert II of
Monaco, accompagnied by His Royal Highness Prince
Philippe of Belgium, visits Spacebel on the occasion
of his official visit to Belgium.
- Spacebel is put in the spotlight during the
Wallonie Espace Space Days on micro satellites.
- 2009:
- Development of the flight software of the
experimental spacecraft EXPERT.
- Delivery to B-USOC of the ground segment software
for the scientific mission centre of the French
micro satellite Picard destined for the obsvervation
of the Sun.
- 31/07/2009: renewal of the ISO certification
according to the new 9001:2008 standard and Tick-IT
Guide version 5.5.
- Successfull launch of PROBA-2, the
mini-observatory of the Sun "made in
Belgium" for which Spacebel has implemented the
complete package of software developments.
